A WOODEN CAT'S SECRET

* this is the continuation, the first episode is here.

EPISODE 2

Mum works typing the text. However after some minutes quick patter of feet sounds in the corridor. The girl appears on the threshold again. One of her hands holds the cat head, another - the cat's body with a small piece of paper jutted out from it. Mum angrily turns to scold daughter but her look stops on that piece of paper.

MUM (standing up and confusingly looking at daughter): O, Gosh! What have you done?! What for?

LILLY (guiltily): I just tried to dress her and pulled the head...

Mum takes the cat's body, draws out the note and sits down on the sofa. The girl approaches her.

LILLY: My dad wrote it.

MUM (unfolding the note): Yeah

LILLY (peeping in mum's eyes): Did you read this?

MUM (averting eyes and sighing): Yes. Lilly, where is its head?

The girl gives the cat's head. Mum takes it, stands up and goes to the table assembling the figure. Lilly drops on the sofa. Her look is sad.

EPISODE 3

INT. THE LILLY'S NURSERY - MORNING

We see the nursery of the same flat. Bright morning light penetrates through curtains. Toys lay on the floor here and there. Lilly is sleeping in a bed. She is blanketing up to her eyes. Then her eyes open. She starts to listen to mum's unclear voice in the corridor. Mum is speaking to somebody by phone. Lilly rises on her elbow and smiles.

MUM'S VOICE (from the corridor): Yeah... Er-r... No, I am not angry about that... at all... Yes. I… I love you.

The girl stands up and tiptoes to the door.

MUM'S VOICE (from the corridor): Of course... Come. Lilly misses you too. Yeah, you know... What? When? Today? Surely, come today. We'll be waiting.

Lilly opens the door. Mum smiles her. The corridor is full of light.

A NICE MELODY IS SOUNDING HERE.

FADE OUT.

THE END.
