This is a story about a nine-year-old girl, who gets into the fairy world of the great poetess Emily Dickinson. But her strict aunt dislikes that because she knows about the bitter part of this fairy tale.

I'm sure, my dear friends, you know that this year, December 30, 180 years will be passed since Emily Dickinson's birthday.

Now, just imagine... a film like this:

FLOWERS FROM MISS EMILY...

by Alexander Kalinkin
Genre: Biography
Category: Short Film Screenplay (30 min)
Audience: Children of 7-12 year-old

May 1895. Samantha (9) goes to Amherst, a provincial town, to spend the summer with her aunt. Aunt wants her niece to be a well-bred lady. However, Samantha is fed up with that sort of excessive care at home, in Boston and seeks for any chance to explore the big world. Soon she finds a real mystery… A mistress of a rich house speaks to her guest through a closed door so that the elegant gentleman has to leave. Aunt's explanations only add fuel to the fire - this lady rarely goes out but if she does, she always wears a white gown. Aunt believes she is too proud and… even crazy so Samantha is not allowed even to come to her house.

The girl secretly slips into the park of the mysterious lady. Soon she happens to see miss Emily Dickinson, who is not crazy at all but a true fairy speaking to flowers and to birds. The aunt learns about Samantha's crime and sends the girl back to Boston.

A year later Miss Emily passes away. The girl can visit only her grave. Some more years later, in Boston, Samantha sees a book - "Poems by Emily Dickinson" in a bookstore. The salesman proudly tells her that their storekeeper has published this book. Soon Samantha meets him. Yes, it is the known gentleman, who knocked the door of Dickinson house many years ago…
